Crucial Tips to Remember When Naming Your Brand
To many people it is easier to create a brand than naming the brand. The reason for it is because by choosing a good name for your brand you are able to catch people’s attention. The very second you catch their attention you’ll start gaining more and more popularity. However, even the best names for a company don’t increase the brands popularity because certain things weren’t taken in consideration.
This is why I created this article. To help people understand how certain simple tips will create a huge impact on their brand.
Don’t Limit Yourself
When choosing a name for your brand, don’t ever limit yourself. It’s highly advised to also not name your brand after yourself. By naming your brand after yourself, certain obstacles will arise. These obstacles are even more visible when you try to sell your brand.
Focus on Areas That Are Essential
Ask yourself the following question: What areas describe the key areas of my business? Once you know the answer to this question, you be able to include them in the business’s name or supporting tagline. This can be great for SEO too.
Keep It Simple
Remember to name your brand something that is easy to pronounce and write. After naming your brand, ask yourself the following question: Will people be able to write it easily or search for it on Google? If the answer is no then try again with a different name.
Test Your Name Out
Once you’ve finally picked out the name, test it out by having strangers or your own family and friends say the name. Also take in consideration how people with different accents would pronounce the name. Some people with certain accents may have difficulty at pronouncing it. Also, pay attention to people’s reaction when you tell them the name. If the reactions are mostly positive then you are one step closer at choosing the perfect name for your brand.
Do Your Research
Buttercupink.blogspot.com states: “Do some research when it comes to your competitors. People at times make the mistake of using a similar name as their competitors. Check relevant government business registers to make sure your name isn’t already in use or similar to a competitors name”.
Something that you must also take in consideration is if the selected URL for your name is available or not. It will be very disappointing if after registering your brands name you realize you can’t purchase the URL and email for it. So choose wisely and always research as much as possible.
It is highly suggested amongst professionals to use a “.com” URL for your brand. Also, if your brand is focused on a national audience, try using the country’s URL ending.
Hopefully you have learned a lot with all these simple tips. You will be guaranteed to succeed with your brand thanks to properly choosing the name for your brand. Many people have come forward to me telling me how grateful they are thanks to reading my tips and hopefully they will help you too!
