Top Mistakes People Make When Creating Social Media Graphics
Creating social media graphics is a big part in your creative entrepreneur process. You write a blog post and then you need social media graphics. You created a new product and now you need a graphic to promote it and so on.
When you create social media graphics it’s easy to make a few mistakes and trust me, I made these mistakes too when I first started creating graphics for social media. The WORSE mistakes I made (and possibly the ones you are doing too) are:
Mistake # 1: Your Brand Is Nonexistent
When you use inconsistent fonts and colors on all of your designs, it confuses your audience. Choose one font for your heading, one font for your subheading and one font for your body text. Choose 3-6 colors for your color palette. You will need one light color, one mid tone color and one dark color for your color palette to look professional.
Mistake # 2: You Use Too Many Different Templates
Canva is a great tool for creating pretty templates, but when you choose too many different types of templates or the wrong size for the platform that you are posting on, your social media posts will not look professional.
When you use the same template for all of your blog posts for example, your audience will begin to recognize you AND your brand. If you’re going to post on Instagram choose the social media size, if you’re posting on Facebook choose the Facebook size and so on.
Mistake #3: You Have No Accountability And Feel All Over The Place With Your Designs
Creating social media graphics shouldn’t be hard and it is something that you should enjoy when you’re ramping up a new post or insert-your-awesome-item-here!
Hopefully these tips will help you create better social media graphics and how to fix these mistakes that I see quite often!
